Biography
Beltran Borges, M.D. - Post-Doctoral Fellow - Hello! My name is Beltran. I was born and raised in Argentina, where I attended medical school at the National University of Litoral. After graduation, I joined the MacKenzie Lab at UCSF to pursue my interest in translational research. Here, I work on a variety of projects at different stages of the “bench to bedside” paradigm, dabbling with various animal models and wet lab skills as well as the nuances of clinical trials and patient outreach strategies. A fun fact about me is that I went on several exchange programs when I was younger, these were some of my favorite times where I learned about foreign cultures and taught myself other languages. While I muse about what the future might hold for me professionally, outside of science I love writing and I hope to publish a novel one day. Dogs always make me happy, and you can usually find me outside going for a run or looking for the best cup of coffee.
