Biography
I grew in Laguna Hills, CA, where every day is a beach day. I am a visiting graduate student from SFSU. I am currently working on my Masters in Biomedical Science with a concentration in Stem Cell Science. I attended UC Riverside where I was in Dr. Erica Heinrich’s lab, investigating physiological responses to hypoxia and high altitude. I researched how EPOR (erythropoietin receptor) splice variants is causing polycythemia in high altitude populations in Peru. I also investigated how there are differences in DNA methylation when individuals are acclimating to high altitude conditions. I am currently involved in several projects, one of which is studying the origins of Sacrococcygeal Teratomas and the other is developing a gene editing therapy for Alpha Thalassemia Major.
